Osceola tracksters finish in third at CC Invite

In their final tuneup before districts, the Osceola Boys Track Team took home third with 97 points in the Cross County Invite. They claimed six gold medals on the day with Brady Erhart and Tony Cliffords winning double gold. Erhart once again crossed the finish line first in the 200 and 400 meter dashes, while Cliffords circled the track twelve times and broke the tape twice in winning the 1600 and 3200 meter runs. Landon Hayes took top honors in the 110 meter hurdles, with the 400 meter relay team of Hayes, Erhart, Kyler LeSuer, and Anthony Hanson crossing the line ahead of the other teams. Hanson won silver in the 100 meter dash, 300 meter hurdles, and bronze in the long jump, while Hayes took third in the 300 meter hurdles. The 1600 meter relay team of Erhart, Elliot Watts, Hayes, and Cliffords won a silver medal.

Like the boys, the Osceola Girls Track Team took third place in the Cross County Invite, with 92 points, in their final meet before districts. The girls earned three gold medals on the day, with the 3200 meter relay claiming the first of the day, as Kelsey Erhart, Brittany Nelson, Taylor Walgren, and Morgan Walgren broke the tape for top honors. They continue their strong showing in the 400, as they went 1-2, with Jordyn Kuhnel taking gold, and Kelsey Erhart the silver. Morgan Walgren claimed the other gold, winning the 1600 meter run. In the hurdles, the girls won a silver and a bronze, with Terra Micek getting a silver  in the 100 and Kaitlyn Schleif a bronze in the 300. Schleif also won a silver in the triple jump, while Kuhnel earned bronze in the pole vault, Erhart bronze in the 800 and Sarah Carnes bronze in the high jump. The 1600 meter relay team of Erhart, Carnes, Kuhnel, and Michelle Wilgocki took home a silver. In a triangular earlier this season, Jordyn Kuhnel broke the school record in the pole vault as she cleared 9’ to break her own record of 8’6”.
