Vera Kearney

Vera Lavon Kearney, 86, Lincoln, passed away Sunday, February 10, 2008. She was born to Dewey and Mina (Goodwin) Olson on March 25, 1921 on a farm near Gresham. She graduated from Gresham High and took a secretarial course at Strayer’s College in Washington, D.C. She worked for the Government in Washington, D.C. for five years and for the Nebraska Department of Roads in Lincoln for eight years. She was united in marriage to Clarence H. Kearney on August 20, 1955. She enjoyed her friends, family, cards, crocheting and embroidery.
Survivors include her daughter Linda R. Schaaf of Lincoln; son Edward E. Kearney of Lincoln; one grandson and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence and her parents.
Funeral services were held on February 15, 2008 at Bethany Christian Church in Lincoln with Pastor Daryl Lauber officiating. Burial was in Lincoln Memorial Park.
