Sylvia Olson, 92, of Columbus, Nebraska, died Friday, June 6, 2008, at Mory’s Haven in Columbus. The funeral service was held Tuesday, June 10, 10:30 A.M. at the Zion Lutheran Church in Leigh with Rev. Terry Timm officiating. Interment was in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Leigh. Gass Haney Funeral Home in Columbus was in charge of arrangements. Memorials are suggested to Zion Lutheran Church, Zion Lutheran Cemetery or Leigh Cemetery.
Sylvia is survived by her daughters Betty Hamernik and Jane Barr, both of Columbus, and Linda (Don) Fuhr of Osceola; 10 Grandchildren; 18 Great Grandchildren; and sister-in-law Elsie Barjenbruch of Columbus.
Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Arnold Olson in 2002, son Arnold Olson, Jr., infant son Richard Olson, sons-in-law William Hamernik and Don Barr, daughter-in-law Donna Olson, grandson David Barr, infant granddaughter Kristine Fuhr, seven brothers and five sisters.
