Rex L. Jurgensen passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Annie Jeffrey Memorial County Health Center in Osceola, NE at the age of 89 years, 4 months and 13 days.
Rex was preceded in death by his brother Aubrey Jurgensen and sister-in-law Lelah, and by his son-in-law, Frankie Duba, all of Cordova.
Rex is survived by his wife of 66 years, Betty, daughters Janet Duba of Cordova, Joyce (Ben) Votipka of Burress, Donna (Arnie) Hellbusch of Stromsburg; grandchildren, Leslie (Pat) Huggins, Jessica Votipka, Daniel Votipka, Austin (Anne) Hellbusch, and Audra (Todd) Jensen; and 4 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, January 24, 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Cordova, NE. with Pastors Brenda Pfeifly and Karen Tjarks officiating. Pallbearers were Austin Hellbusch, Todd Jensen, Paul Jurgensen, Rocky Plettner, Rod Rose and Daniel Votipka. Honorary pallbearers were the Stromsburg American Legion pitch players.
Interment was in the Zastrow Cemetery with Farmer and Son in charge of arrangements. Memorials are directed to family.
