Mervin LyMoine Rystrom, age 89, of Stromsburg, Nebraska, passed away July 1, 2010 at the Midwest Covenant Home/Assisted Living in Stromsburg.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Stromsburg with Pastor Dan Spearow officiating. Visitation was Monday, July 5 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church. Interment was in the Stromsburg Cemetery with Military Rites by the Stromsburg Legion Post #132. Dubas Funeral Home of Stromsburg and Osceola had been entrusted with arrangements.
Surviving his are his wife Jo, of 67 years; one son Martin (Maria) Rystrom of Everett, MA; three daughters, Barbara (Gary) Dean of Fremont, Laurel (Jim) Parsley of Columbus and Pat (Ken) Everingham of Stromsburg; daughter-in-law Kris Rystrom Emmert of Bristol, TN; two sisters-in-law Carol Rystrom of Lincoln and Shirley Deay of Lamar, MO; 10 grandchildren, two step-granddaughters and eight great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents; son Commander Jon Alvin Rystrom; and four brothers, Dennis, Darwin, Ronald and Delwyn.
Memorials are suggested to Assisted Living/Midwest Covenant Home or United Methodist Church.
