Lonnie Ackerman

Lonnie L. Ackerman, age 61, of Stromsburg, Nebraska, passed away January 21, 2010, at St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island, Nebraska.
Funeral services were held Monday, January 25, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Salem Lutheran Church in Stromsburg with Pastor Brenda Pfeifly officiating. Visitation was Sunday, January 24 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Dubas Funeral Home in Stromsburg.  Memorials are suggested to the family in lieu of flowers. Dubas Funeral Home of Stromsburg and Osceola had been entrusted with arrangements.
Survivors include his wife Juanita of Stromsburg; seven children, Jared Ackerman of Lincoln, Chris Ackerman of Cedar Rapid, IA, Leslie (Luke) Cole of Belmond, IA, Dustin Ackerman of Cedar Rapid, IA, Evette (Toby) Watts of Osceola, Joel Bittner of Loveland, CO, and Michelle Bittner of Lincoln;  nine grandchildren, Jordan Lamphier, Rashelle Cole and Kyla Cole of Belmond, IA; Logan, Peyton and Carson Watts of Osceola; Trae Bittner, Taylor Bittner of Loveland, CO; and Allison Webb of Lincoln; mother Bessie Brahmsteadt of York; three sisters Helen (Nellie) Barnard of Vinton, IA, Mary Wolfe of Center Point, IA, and Francis (Stewart) Cunningham of Sioux City, IA; five brothers Virgil (Elaine) Ackerman of Benedict, Jerome Ackerman of York, Earl (Jeannie) Ackerman of Guttenberg, IA, Herbert Jr. (Megan) Ackerman of Thayer and Clarence Brahmsteadt of Waco; brothers-in-law Thomas (Suzi) Marsden of Gresham, Don (Jodi) Marsden of Silverdale, WA; sisters-in-law Carla Snodgrass of York and Denice (Dwight) Werner of Sidney; mother-in-law Ardythe (Vernon) Gronlund of Sidney; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father Herbert Ackerman; step-father Clarence Brahmsteadt; fathers-in-law Lester Marsden and Verlin Gronlund; and nephew Trevor James Marsden.
