Joan M. Pallas, 79, of Grand Island, formerly of Lawrence, died Friday, March 12, 2010, at Good Samaritan Village in Grand Island. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lawrence. The Revs. Loras Grell and Michael McDermott and Monsignor Ivan Vap officiated. Burial was in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Lawrence. Merten-Butler Mortuary of Blue Hill was in charge of arrangements.
Survivors of the immediate family include four sons, Mike and his wife Cindy of Omaha, Ben and his wife Michelle of Hastings, Gary and his wife LeaAnn of Van Couver, Wash., and Tim and his wife Colleen of Stromsburg; three daughters, Jolene Cerveny and her husband Roger of Liberty, Mo., Pam Arbogast and her husband Galen of Lawrence and Laura Dexter and her husband Ryan of Grand Island; four brothers, Archie Vap of Billings, Mont., Monsignor Ivan Vap of Hastings, Jerry Vap of Lincoln, and Danny Vap of Missoula, Mont.; and one sister, Patricia Manning of Colorado Springs, Colo.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and grandson Abraham Goff.
Memorials are suggested to the Lawrence Volunteer Fire Department and EMTs and the Nuckolls County Food Bank.
