Agnes M. Wozny, age 84, of Osceola, died Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at the Osceola Good Samaritan Society. Funeral services were held Monday, February 13th at 2:00 p.m. at McKown Funeral Home in Columbus with Pastor Dusty Sprague officiating. Interment was in Roselawn Cemetery in Columbus. McKown Funeral Home in Columbus was in charge of arrangements.
Agnes was born January 8, 1928 in rural Platte Center, NE to William and Helena (Muth) Heins. She graduated from Platte Center High School in 1944.
Agnes married Raymond S. Wozny on October 10, 1946 in Marysville, KS and lived in the Columbus area until 1963. Her family then moved to Osceola and has lived there since.
Agnes received her license in nursing in 1986 and retired in 1994.
Survivors include her son William (Helen) Wozny of Lincoln; daughters Mary (Alan) Russell of Osceola, Dorian Matthew of Omaha, Theresa (Tom) Soukup of Grand Island; grandchildren Jamey and Jeremy Wozny of Lincoln, Jeff and Drew Russell of Osceola, Luke Matthew of Omaha, Dan Matthew of Salt Lake City, UT, Kim Carstens-Soukup and Dani Soukup of Grand Island and Amanda Soukup of Omaha; eight great-grandchildren; sisters Delores Jones of Silver Creek and Linda (Jim) Nissen of Lincoln; and brother Wilber (Evelyn) Heins of La Mesa, TX.
She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond, sons Larry and Joseph, parents William and Helena Heins, brothers Elmer and Rolland Heins and sisters Annetta Johannes, Ruth Siebler and Verla Siebler.
