McKenna, Deb, Steve and Kaylee Murphy invite everyone to come enjoy some good home-cooked food at Murph's Place in Osceola.
Deb and Steve Murphy of Bellwood recently purchased CJ's Restaurant in Osceola from Carol and Jerry Thelen. The Murphy's officially took over the business on July 2, 2010, with their opening day being Tuesday, July 6th. The new name of the business is Murph's Place.
The Murphy's make a great team in the kitchen, as Steve is the chief meat cook and griller, and Deb takes care of the side dishes and the baking. . . .

Norvell Hits Hole-In-One - Jul 20, 2010 - 12:16 PM

Bob Norvell of Clarks had a Hole-In-One on Hole #2 at Ryan Hill Country Club during Senior League play on July 7, 2010.
Witnesses were Gene Bartak, Don Sterup and Al Miller.
This marks Bob's second Hole-In-One. His first was also on Hole #2 at Ryan Hill on May 2, 1997.
Bob enjoys golfing in the Senior and Mens Leagues, and is a long-time member of Ryan Hill Country Club.
Congratulations, Bob!

The Osceola Ambulance Squad would like to turn Osceola "PINK" in October in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. They are currently selling T-shirts as a fundraiser, and all proceeds will go to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. EMT's Carlie Davidson and Nancy Tonniges are displaying the T-shirts.
Everyone is invited to wear your "pink" attire to the October 5th volleyball game and watch Osceola vs. Shickley.  Honor those we've lost, loved, cured or are still fighting the battle. Support the Cause—Help Find a Cure!

Annie Jeffrey Health Center Receives $10,000 Wellness Grant - Jul 20, 2010 - 12:14 PM
OSCEOLA—Annie Jeffrey Health Center has received a $10,000 grant from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska to help fund Snowman Marathon, a wellness program for Polk County residents.
A check presentation will be held Thursday, July 29, at 6:30 p.m. at the County Fair Community Awards Night in Osceola. The public is invited to attend. . . .

Reisdorff Receives 15 Gallon Pin at Blood Drive - Jul 20, 2010 - 12:11 PM

Pat Reisdorff was presented with her 15 gallon pin after donating blood last week at the Masonic Lodge in Stromsburg.
The American Red Cross held a Blood Drive last Friday, July 16th from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Masonic Lodge in Stromsburg.
According to Timm Waller, blood drive chairman, forty-five donors were present to give the gift of life. . . .
