Nyle Larson was born in Stromsburg, Nebraska to Chester and Nina Larson. He was blessed with two sisters, Lucille and Marcella and is a special uncle to four nieces and two nephews and many great nieces and nephews. Unlike the rest of us, arriving in a birthday suit, Nyle was born with a ‘Red Cornhusker Suit’. That suit has changed over the years into many different colors and styles but always with the Husker emblem.
Nyle attended Stromsburg Grade and High Schools with employment beginning at Robert’s Dairy. He also worked for his brother-in-law in the trucking business. Later he worked many years for Don Wolfe at the Crowe Bar and when that was sold he began working for the City of Stromsburg where he worked 11 years before retirement.
Nyle appreciates his many friends here in the Swede Capitol. He is often included in trips to Lincoln to watch the “Huskers’ and when not in attendance, he doesn’t miss a game on radio or TV. Nyle as well as his family, appreciate the kindness of all these friends.
Nyle is a fixture at the Senior Center. His ready greeting, a hug and help are a blessing. He makes daily runs to the Post Office and to the bank. He also clears tables, vaccums, takes out trash and willlingly helps whenever and wherever needed. He is also a sharp pool player and is always encouraging friends to ‘eat at the Sr. Center’.
Nyle knows everyone - and their families. If someone is gone, you can bet Nyle will ask about them. He is a friend to all. Nyle is truly a Super Swede.
