Polk County Sheriff Dwaine Ladwig was recently recognized for 25 years of service to the Nebraska Amateur Softball Association and the youth softball team of Nebraska.
"Dwaine is well known for his straight forward, no-nonsense approach to enforcement of the playing code," said State Commissioner Joe Patterson of Hastings.
Ladwig was originally appointed to his post as District Commissioner in 1985 by then State Commissioner O.W. Bill Smith. He has served as a District and State Tournament Director for many Nebraska ASA events.
Dwaine takes some good-spirited harassment from his fellow board members, as he is the only commissioner currently serving in law enforcement.
"Dwaine always places fairness to all teams involved as his first priority," Patterson added. "Nebraska ASA is fortunate to have Dwaine serving as one of our District Commissioners."
Dwaine resides in Shelby with his wife, Michele and daughter, Taylor.
