A benefit has been planned for Joe "Jammer" Konwinski on Saturday, January 30, 2010 from 1:00-11:00 p.m. at St. Lawrence Parish Hall in Silver Creek.
Jammer was diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumor on June 23, 2009. He had surgery to remove the tumor on June 24th. Since then he has gone through 38 radiation treatments, took chemo pills for awhile, and now is taking chemo intravenously.
Jammer has been a lifelong community member of Silver Creek and attended Silver Creek Public Schools. He has been employed with Plains Power & Equipment in Osceola for about 20 years. He also worked for D & D Auto Transport and K & L Irrigation in Silver Creek.
The benefit will include a silent auction from 1:00-8:00 p.m., a spaghetti feed from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and a live auction of bigger items at 6:30 p.m. Live music will be provided throughout the day.
Jammer is loved by many friends and family including a son Christopher, a daughter Jeannette, his parents, Joe and Elaine Konwinski, three sisters, two brothers, his girlfriend Jeanine Poppe, and many nieces and nephews.
Everyone is invited to come to the benefit this Saturday, January 30th in Silver Creek and support Jammer and his fight with cancer.
