An enjoyable, family event entitled "A Winter A-Fair" has been planned for Saturday, January 28th at 6:00 p.m. at the Polk County Fairgrounds Ag Pavilion in Osceola.
The event is presented by the Stromsburg Evangelical Free Church.
KRVN's Dave Thorell will be the scheduled entertainment for the evening.
Dave Thorell is a 1967 Graduate of Loomis High School and a 1972 Graduate of Kearney State College, now UNK, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Speech Communication.  In 1974 he joined the staff of KRVN Radio as the Night Man.  He then served as the KRVN FM Program Director for 13 years.  Currently he is the “Dave Of All Trades” entertaining listeners on KRVN AM from 9 to 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 to 4 p.m. weekdays and every other Saturday from 6 to 11 a.m.
For over 40 years, Dave has been a lay speaker in Nebraska and Kansas churches and appears at banquets, youth functions and farm organizations. His wife Patti also works at KRVN and they are the proud parents of a son, Matthew.
Along with entertainment by Thorell, there will be a free pork barbecue as well as a dessert auction. The youth from the Evangelical Free Church will be serving the meal, as all proceeds from the event will be used towards a youth conference trip to New Orleans this summer.
Adults who attend will be able to register for a $100 Bomgaars gift card to be given away at the end of the evening.
The public is invited to attend this fantastic event for the entire family. It's sure to be a great cure for the winter blues!
