The Class C-2, No. 4 Shelby-Rising City girls basketball team rolled over the David City Scouts at home with a 90-45 win.
The Scouts were able to keep with the Huskies for the first quarter where Shelby-Rising City led by only 4 points, 15-11. The Huskies went on to outscore the Scouts 25-13 in the second quarter to go into halftime with a 40-24 lead. The second half of the game was all Shelby-Rising City as the Huskies outscored the Scouts 50-21 to win the game 90-45. Maddie Scow was able to step up her game when Chatrice White got into foul trouble and was able to get her fifth double/double of the year. She had 10 rebounds and 18 points in the game. Makanna Davis, Kiley Samek and Jessica Nekl played an aggressive defense and were able to get collectively, 10 steals in the game. Coach Weber commented that they need to keep working on their free throws and become more consistant. The Huskies made 24 of 58 field goals and 11 of 25 free throws on the night.
