Dale F. Ruth, age 85, of Rising City, passed away December 27, 2006 at Butler County Health Care Center in David City.

Dale was born January 16, 1919 in Rising City to Alonzo H. and Tessa (Ribblet) Ruth. He attended Union Hill grade school and graduated from Rising City High School in 1936.

On September 6, 1940, Dale was married to Lois E. Croisant at Sidney, IA.

Dale was a farmer, he raised livestock and sold seed corn. He enjoyed going to his grandchildren's activities.

Dale was a member of the United Methodist Church in Rising City, the Union Hill School Board, and sold Pioneer Seed Corn for 50 years.

Survivors include his wife Lois; son Ronald (Dorothy) of Rising City; daughter Carla (Lloyd) Hans of Shelby; sister-in-law Virginia Bernt of Bond; five grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Luella Scow, and two brothers Roland Scow and Kenneth Bernt.

Services were held Saturday, December 30, 2006 at 1:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Rising City. Burial was in Circle Mound Cemetery in Rising City.

Memorials are suggested to the family.

Chermok Funeral Home in David City was in charge of arrangements.
