This country road located one mile east and one mile south of Stromsburg was completely underwater. The construction equipment belonging to a company installing underground fiber optic cable in the area was parked in a field just off the road and is now surrounded by flood water. The workers were using a boat to get to their equipment to assess the situation.

Davis Creek on the east edge of Osceola is also flooded and out of its banks. Debris that was washed away is floating in the flood water.

Patrons were unable to get to the trash compactor in Osceola last week, as the area was completely surrounded by water. The shop, owned by Addam Gabel, had water as high as the window on the door, which is approximately 3-4 feet.

A semi driver thought he could make it through the water on Highway 81/92 by Plains Power & Equipment in Osceola Thursday morning, but he lost sight of the road and ended up in the ditch.

Jon and Nancy Tonniges of Osceola received a lot of water damage from the overflow of Davis Creek. Their horse barn and pens were underwater, and water also was reported in their basement.
